Technical and Administrative Theatre Internships

Electrics Intern:
Theatre IV and Barksdale Theatre are currently seeking a full time seasonal Electrics Intern for our 2008-2009 seasons.  Duties include assisting the Master Electrician and Sound Technician with general maintenance of all lighting and sound equipment, hang, focus, and maintenance for each production within the seasons, and assisting Lighting Designers with programming of light cues for each production within the seasons.  Applicants should possess basic knowledge of theatrical lighting instruments and equipment, and be comfortable working at heights of 12 to 20 feet.  Submit cover letter, resume, and references to Ginnie Willard, Production Manager, at g.willard@theatreivrichmond.org.  For more information on Theatre IV and Barksdale Theatre, please visit our websites at www.theatreivrichmond.org and www.barksdalerichmond.org.

Scenic Artist/Properties Intern:
Theatre IV and Barksdale Theatre are currently seeking a full time seasonal Scenic Artist and Properties Intern for our 2008-2009 seasons.  Duties include assisting the Master Scenic Artist with painting scenery for all productions within the seasons, and assisting the Props Master with acquiring and/or building props for all productions within the seasons.  Applicants should have some experience in scenic painting, have a strong ability to work on their own with instruction, and should have their own vehicle with a valid driver’s license.  Submit cover letter, resume, portfolio photos and references to Ginnie Willard, Production Manager, at g.willard@theatreivrichmond.org.   For more information on Theatre IV and Barksdale Theatre, please visit our websites at www.theatreivrichmond.org and www.barksdalerichmond.org.

Carpentry Intern:

Production Management Intern:

Costume Intern:
Theatre IV and Barksdale Theatre are currently seeking a full time seasonal Costume Intern for our 2008-2009 seasons.  Duties include assisting the Director of Costumes and costume shop staff with all aspects of the operation of the costume shop for all touring and main stage productions within the seasons.  Applicants should possess basic sewing skills and be able to work in various areas such as stock, wardrobe, and craft.  Possibilities exist for Wardrobe Supervisor and Assistant to the Costume Designer responsibilities for certain productions throughout the seasons. If you have special technical theatre skills or want to develop some, consider joining our team as an intern. You could work with Theatre IV's Costumes, Set Construction, Props, or anything else related to behind-the-scenes.
