Tickets for Kids

As part of our commitment to make theatre available to all children and families, Theatre IV maintains its longstanding Tickets for Kids program. Through this program, Theatre IV donates 8-10 percent of all Richmond, VA mainstage tickets to less advantaged and/or disabled children and families.

Each season, Theatre IV brings the excitement and magic of live theatre to thousands children and families of the Metro Richmond area through a lineup of engaging productions presented in the Historic Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre (formerly the Empire Theatre) (located in the heart of downtown Richmond) and Barksdale Theatre (located at The Shops at Willow Lawn). Through Tickets for Kids, we work with several community-based organizations to identify children and families who do not have the financial resources to attend these theatrical performances, and offer these families free tickets to Family Playhouse productions throughout the season.

Since its inception, and with the support of the philanthropic community, Tickets for Kids has provided tens of thousands of free tickets to identified children and families in the Greater Richmond area. If not for our program, many of the children we serve may never otherwise have the opportunity to experience the wonder of live theatre.


    Requirements:

    In addition to the Tickets for Kids Form (Word document above), organizations must also send a Letter of Request on the organization's letterhead, including the following information:

    • Name of program (if a program of the larger organization)
    • Nature of program
    • Population served
    • Dates of show(s) requested. *Please include alternate dates.

    Please see the Tickets for Kids Form for our address and fax number. Once we receive and process your request, we will mail a confirmation letter with additional performance information, which you should receive within 7 to 10 business days.
